Likely errors in Gatecrash Oracle update

Posted by Michael on Jan 23, 2013 in Database Updates, MTG Guide app, MTG Trades app |

Gatherer was updated today for Gatecrash. Whenever I update my apps, I always look over these changes and look for errors (both in my code and in WotC’s update).

** 2013/01/25 Update: This is now fixed. **

This update has some changes. They changed (reduced) the mana costs of 45 odd blue cards to {3}{U}. Misdirection is a bit easier to hard cast, Treachery now ramps you even with only basic lands in play! Crosis, the Purger is a lot easier to cast for only blue mana. I don’t think Morphling needed any cost reduction. And strangely they changed Spark Spray’s cycling cost from {R} to {2}.

Errors on Gatherer:
• Spark Spray’s cycling cost changed from {R} to {2}.
• The flip side of Budoka Pupil (Ichiga, Who Topples Oaks) is missing.
• The following cards now have incorrect, reduced mana costs:
Alexi, Zephyr Mage
Balshan Griffin
Bazaar of Wonders
Crosis, the Purger
Desertion
Dispersing Orb
Dream Halls
Duplicity
Empress Galina
Empress Galina
Essence Fracture
Fervent Denial
Hakim, Loreweaver
Heightened Awareness
Hydromorph Gull
Ice Cave
Ixidor, Reality Sculptor
Killer Whale
Mawcor
Minotaur Illusionist
Misdirection
Mist of Stagnation
Mistform Shrieker
Morphling
Nebuchadnezzar
Princess Lucrezia
Psychic Allergy
Psychic Battle
Ramirez DePietro
Recantation
Riptide Chronologist
Riptide Shapeshifter
Saprazzan Bailiff
Silver Wyvern
Skeleton Ship
Spelljack
Spiketail Drake
Spinal Embrace
Sunder
Supreme Inquisitor
Taniwha
Temporal Distortion
Treachery
Ur-Drago
Water Elemental
Waterspout Elemental
Wormfang Behemoth

Am I the only person that actually checks these changes for errors?

I do some checks against the last time I extracted gatherer as wel.
Makes you wonder who is in charge of maintaining the gatherer db and if they update production environments directly from some developers workstation 🙂
I’ll hold of on updating my database, thanks for the heads up!
